Here is one of many Urban Scenarios presented in the great book (Sustainable Everyday; Scenarios of Urban Life) This scenario involve neighbours who pull down their fences to create a productive mini-community in which to grow vegetables, bringing in ideas of sustainability , self sufficiency and community. This one particularly caught my eye with a new thought; how these ideas seem so unrealistic and Utopian to us now, but imagine when petrol is so expensive that we cant afford to have fresh produce transported to us, then maybe our neighbours will easily fill this picture that this scenario depicts. It really interesting to imagine how we might behave when situations change to these measures....
