Notes from:
LECTURE ONE: A well-written thesis.

* First research, then criticism.
* Hypothetical sympathy.
* Do not just prove that something is true, but understand how it came to be true.

Survey the field with preliminary research; map the issue you want to explore. Research is never perfect, keep it controlled, but loose and it will naturally tighten up as you go. Start off with a realistic scope. Writing is a good way to generate new insights.

The TOPIC is the subject. It should give a concise statement and explain my own approach. Include time and person if necessary. Narrow it town so it’s clear & direct.
The THESIS is your own point of view.

START EARLY :: READ AND WRITE :: POLISH :: GET ADVISE
